Vaat it is!

I had just finished a long and fulfilling lunch with the parents.
Saw the squirrel go up a mango tree in the backyard, - discretely as is customary of him.
Then there was a sound -: a squirrel-like sound i think, so nothing unusual there. I could see the little fellow perched on that puny branch on the top, and so I was convinced it wasn't the squirrel, although the sound sounded so very much like him. Then I saw wings flap. On another branch.
My father thinks this is some kind of owl. I think it isn't.
Anyway, he's a nube in the backyard, so all of us want to know.
Anyone knows?
