Infinity - Of time, and faith.

Reason and faith do not go together.
Just look at the sunset at the end of the road to infinity -
I could spend my life chasing the real, and call life unreal and temporary. And that is what most religions ask me to presume true.

There is the eternal lamp that lights the higher path, they say - walk the path, do not look to your sides, indulgence is a carnal sin.

The sun among the evening clouds at the end of the road is real; But so is the road, and so is infinity.
I seek gratification, and I like to look around - I believe in the drive more than the destination.
I believe in now.
Believer? Atheist?
How about indifferent?

Reason and blind faith do not go together.

When you develop faith, there is reasoning behind - for sure !

Btw, is this location after KR Puram flyover?

kc: Tht's NOT KR puram fly-over!

ash: For once, i think the picture doesnt do justice to teh scene. You have to go to this place. A drive in the evening on that road is mindblowing!

moi: right by my house. :)

keshi: me too..

pricky: Hey!!
dude I've been so busy that I havent used the office wash room in two days - forget the camera.

always indulge, coz you're the only one wondering if you can, and the only one who'll let yourself indulge. and if you don't, you'll be the only one who cares that he didn't.

You can always be a good person no matter what side of the road you are looking at or detours you are taking and really that is what it is all about. Good luck to you and I hope you find a religion that is empowering and giving to you.

heh?: Right. I let myself indulge.
I stop to look around. I have my fun. My rights, my wrongs and my guilt are my own, and not something that religions and social orders impose on me.
Yet, I'm worried that if diffficult times come, i dont have blind faith as a fallback option.

silverine: Thanks!

pecos blue: Hey thanks for coming by. but the problem is - and I keep saying this - I believe that as much as faith is a healer, i believe religion is the desease.
i wouldn't want to belong anywhere.

moi: yeah true.. quite a lucky man, me.. in so many ways.

i have appreciation for
both the river shot
and the faith shot...

:-)

if you can get it:

my faith shot may be harder to find...
or maybe easier, who knows!!!

i agree with KC that when there is faith, there has to be a reason behind it. the problem i guess is that most people equate faith with religion...i don't see why that should be.
when difficult times comes, blind faith DOES not help...it can only give you denial, but if you are looking for a fall back-something to see you through, u need real faith. and that comes with reason :)
everyone is a believer in something at some level, yes even athiest. u feel you don't belong anywhere...but you are not alone still (there's a lame line ;))
and this time i feel the words and the pic gel perfectly. good stuff mate!

an atheist who is conditionally a believer when not indifferent.

and real? what is real? you? me? or these words?

pinkflowers: thanks! :)
your river shot was beautiful. I've been extremely busy at work, but as soon as I find some time I'm going to start looking at your archives.

crumbs: i dont know how much I agree with you. faith is inherently blind and unquestioning. and that's exactly why it sometimes lets you "hope against hope". And that's the way i like it. I hope to be able to have some blind faith - like the blind optimism that i have today. Perhaps in God, or people, or maybe even ideals.

lash: That's one way to look at it. like i said, I'm a blind optimist. Given the option, I'd choose the greener side of things.
:)

"given an option" being the keyphrase.

and funnily, even from a greenland we ought to look at a greener land. Some call it greed and some term it amibitions.. anyway, we are getting nowhere discussing this, so the blind optimist that you are and the reluctant optimist (i refuse to call myself as a pessimist)lets rest the case. I will be in banglore this sunday. We need to meet up.

neers: what's funny is that i'm not, and livin is still fun all the way.

God created this world...I don't for one minute believe that to to shun its temptations and indulgences and lessons was what he wanted. He wanted us to taste and judge and live. :)

I think.
