The river between

The river had been flowing undecided for a few months now. The sun was exceptionally hard this year, and the stray patches of land in it’s center this time were larger and more in number than in the past so many years.
The kid liked the river in the boat. He had once seen a boat with so much water in it that it became only an outline on the river’s surface.
But there were his friends on the other side, walking up the path that followed the river’s turns to the next village.
It was summer, there was no school, and he wished the boat would go faster.

G'day from Australia,

What a powerful site. As someone who looks through the lens for different angles and different sights, I really do identify with your presentation.

Thanks for dropping by my site - I did laugh at your moniker, too!

As like-minded souls, shall we blogroll each other? Let me know ...

Cheers

David

Moi: i was hoping that someone'd look at the reflections on the ripples. thanks!
:)

Ash: it ees!

Pricky: yes, I did a crop when i was printing that one, but apart from that all of it is as is.

i've been around. just too busy with work. didnt even have a weekend this time.

David: You're welcome, and thank you! My blogroll's not been updated in a long while, but I guess I should be adding all of you folks in there.
It'll be easier than trusting my browser to remember your urls.
:)

bala, this surely must b one of ur best shots.. more than the composition (which is pretty gud), wot i liked is the idea of capturing on lens, ppl who are on transit..

its always refreshing, to see the different expressions on their faces (ppl normally dont try to stiffen their faces while travelling. if u luk close, u can c all their thought processes on their faces then..), all luking fwd to reach the same shore, but different destinations..

totally luvd it.. more so 'coz it's got dat cozy kerala touch!

is it just me or are you really becoming profound? :)
there's something really close bout that pic...it seems like those ones that you could just look at and write stories about...the people in it i mean...
like i could spend a while wondering what that man is contemplating bout, or where the other man with the beard is looking...
this captured a minute in time...
and i think those are what pictures should really do :)

Keshi:
Yeah. I just love the place. :)

Usha: Hey that's interesting - never really thought of it that way - Very true. People seem to shed when they're in transit.

crumbs: Aiyyoo..
Know what? that picture made it through to this year's annual photographers hall of fame in Fidelity.
thanks!!
:)

so many stories sitting in that little boat!

every river i know BEGS for a photo shoot,
"catch me before i change!" they shout.

you have to be quick,
you have to see more than most.
you were and you did.

thanks for sharing this moment in time,
caught with an artist's eye...

:-)

Hey thank you for coming by!
I totally agree - The river has a thousand stories to tell, and so does a face caught unaware.

Dave: See- i just did!
:)

Kalyan: Thank you!
